| DESCRIPTION | | The Langeberg region is characterized by diverse landscapes. Entering from the north via Garcia's Pass (R323) will provide a striking introduction to the region, presenting awesome panoramic views of the majestic Langeberg mountains, the far reaching coastal plain and the inviting Indian ocean in the distance. This road will take you to Riversdale, the largest town and agricultural centre in the area. To the south of Riversdale is Stilbaai, one of the most popular holiday resorts in the Western Cape, offering boating, safe swimming, and excellent fishing. But if it is big fish that you're after, then you should set off to the west where the Breede River enters the Indian ocean. The Kabeljou (or cob) frequenting the estuary near Witsand and Port Beaufort are huge (SA angling record 73.5kg!).
