DESCRIPTION
If you love the sea and enjoy the outdoors, this area will be a great place to be spending your holiday. Plettenberg Bay boasts three beautiful beaches: Robberg, Central and Lookout, and offers excellent deep-sea fishing. The nearby Keurbooms River lagoon is a perfectly safe spot for bathing and other water sports. Alternatively, you can enjoy a sailing trip along the Keurbooms River estuary while admiring the indigenous trees and other flora. If you want to burn off some calories, you might like to hike along the three or five kilometre Milkwood trail in and around the town, or go exploring the Robberg Nature Reserve from where you might spot whales and dolphins. Towards the east is the holiday village of Nature’s Valley (the name says it all), which can serve as a good stopover en route to the nearby Tsitsikamma National Park, where you can hike the famous 45km Otter trail or (if you were not so organized to book a year and a half in advance) do daytrips. When the tranquillity of the forest becomes a bit too much, you could brace yourself (literally and figuratively) and face your fears at the world’s highest bungee jump at Bloukrantz.
