Welbedacht Nature Reserve has an abundance of flora, bird life, small animal life and larger buck species and zebra. Nature trails meander through the reserve and for the more adventurous, longer hikes are available on the reserve and through the Winterhoek Mountain Reserve which adjoins Welbedacht. Mountain biking trails begin here, too and link up with trails throughout the valley. There is a large dam for swimming, a natural labyrinth to explore and lots of quiet sitting spots. Nearby, you can enjoy horse riding, wine tasting and the historic town of Tulbagh with its selection of restaurants and bars, as well as art and craft shops, museums and national monuments.

Orchard Cottage has two bedrooms, each with a double bed and a bathroom en suite. The large open plan living area has a fire place, kitchen, dining area, sitting area and 2 single pull out beds. Double doors open onto a shady veranda and a neat garden enclosed by low stone walls and offering a view of the entire Tulbagh Valley. R 1,345.00 per night.

Eagle Cottage has a bedroom with a double bed and a smaller children`s bedroom with 2 single bunk beds. The kitchen and living area are open plan with a fire place and doors leading to a covered veranda. There is a built in fire place outside, a mountain water splash pool on the veranda and low stone walls enclosing a natural garden. R 1,075.00 per night.

Pine Cottage offers an open plan bedroom with a double bed, a lounge and kitchen area and doors opening onto a covered verandah. There is an indoor fire place, an outdoor braai area and a private mountain water splash pool with views over the dam. R 855.00 per night.

Stone cottage offers an open plan bedroom with a double bed, a lounge and kitchen area and doors opening onto a covered veranda. There is a fire place for cold winter nights, an outdoor braai area, a mountain water splash pool for the warmer, summer days and beautiful valley and mountain views. R 855.00 per night.

The Blue Butterfly is a beautifully restored barn with facilities on the ground floor including a large lounge / studio / workshop area with a big fire place connected via a large covered veranda to the self catering facilities in the form of the thatched, fully equipped, farm-style kitchen that can seat your whole party. The large covered veranda / stoep opens onto a huge enclosed garden with trees, big lawns, pergola and fishpond and where there is a large fire pit and BBQ / braai. This area looks out onto a large camp with horses and zebra and borders the reserve as as the primary game conservation area.

The Blue Butterfly has a total of 7 bedrooms with a total of 18 single beds. The configuration is as follows: There are two en suite loft bedrooms upstairs that have separate entrances; each room with its own bathroom / shower and 4 single beds. There are two garden rooms each with their own separate entrance, a little sitting room, 2 single beds and a bathroom / shower en suite and finally, there are three davels (cabins) which each have 2 single beds and a bathroom / shower en suite.

The Blue Butterfly`s rate is R 335.00 per person per night with a minimum of 10 persons and a maximum of 18 persons.
